Wedding DazeWedding Daze, written and directed by Michael Ian Black, arrives on DVD January 15, 2008. Previously known as The Next Girl I See and The Pleasure of Your Company, it was an oft-delayed title which never found a substantial release in theaters. But don’t let that deter you! As per the IMDB description:

After losing the woman of his dreams, Anderson is convinced he’ll never fall in love again. But at the urging of his best friend, he spontaneously proposes to a dissatisfied waitress named Katie and an innocent dare evolves into the kind of love that both have been looking for all along.

The trailer is harmless enough, and alludes to the brand of underlying absurdity one hopes to see from Michael Ian Black. And at the very least, the outlandish, post-everything premise does not appear to be lost on the cast. Also, Jason Biggs reminds me of my ex-boyfriend.

Michael Showalter’s “Sandwiches & Cats” and Michael Ian Black’s “I’m a Wonderful Man”

“Sandwiches and Cats” coverOnly a few weeks after Michael Ian Black’s solo comedy album I’m a Wonderful Man was released, Michael Showalter (a.k.a. the hot one) is out with his own sketch/stand-up hybrid entitled Sandwiches & Cats. While Black’s effort is a taping of one of his live shows, Showalter’s album is not entirely compiled of stand-up segments and benefits from a handful of songs (or, more accurately, narration over music) and sketches.

If nothing else, it’s interesting to finally shatter the Stella triad and get a glimpse into what two members contribute individually. Check em’ out!

Update: A recent interview with Michael Showalter confirms the development of a The State sketch comedy movie about the history of America. [via Pitchfork Media]
